English 8 Assignments

Book Report #1 is due on April 22.

 

This means you must have read your book, written a 1-2 page summary, written a 2-3 paragraph biography of the author, created a poster to present to the class, and prepared a presentation of both the summary and biography by this date. 

 

***I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WORK AFTER CLASS ON APRIL 22. If you are late turning any part of the assignment in, you will get a zero for the entire assignment.***

Monday Feb. 16 - Optional 2015 Georgia Farm Bureau Middle School Essay Contest is due

 

The topic is "Make My Career Agriculture." 

Read Chapter 1 of "The Outsiders"

Create a list of major characters from this chapter only and give one sentence describing each character

Unit 3 Vocab Test:

Students need to be able to:

1. Spell the words correctly

2. Identify the correct word when given the definition

3. Identify which vocab word (out of two choices) is the appropriate word for the given sentence

The student will write a 2 page fictional story. This is a "free writing" assignment in that the student can write about absolutely anything they desire, as long as it did not really happen. I will be very relaxed in my grading of this assignment. It is due at the end of class on Tuesday.

Write the word, the definition, and create an example sentence.
